Over 1000 people attended the grassroots march on April 2oth 2011, called Overgrow The Government. Their protest in Washington D.C. demanded an end to cannabis prohibition. The group marched from the Washington Monument to Lafayette Park behind the White House for an all day event including speakers from every corner of the United States. The experiences were all different but the message was the same. Legalize It Now! Roared from the protesters; the chant echoed throughout Washington D.C. from the Washington Monument all the way to the White House.
The funny part of the day came when the Park Service Police told them that the demonstration and their permit were OK but warned them to make sure they did not block the sidewalks and to “please stay on the grass.”
